1959 – Two “cricket” teams
In 1959 Kildwick Albion Cricket Club won the local knock-out competition, the
Cowling Cup. This month we have two photographs of the cup-winning team.
We also have a photograph of the team that took them on later, in a charity match
– the White Lion Irregulars.

About the “Group photographs project”
A number of group photographs have been contributed to our archive with very
little information attached to them. The aim of this project is to capture as much
detail as we can from those who might remember the events and people shown.
The first of the two KACC photographs was donated to our archive at an early
date. The second, and the photograph of the White Lion team, were given to us
by Peter Armitage who was also able to name the people shown.
